  • 1. What is the GeoKonect Design Tool?
It is a comprehensive suite of design tools developed by Kontain to assist engineers in analysing various aspects of geosynthetic liner design.
  • 2. What is the purpose of the design tool?
The purpose is to validate and cross-check geotechnical designs, with tools covering various analyses like leak rate, wind uplift, geocomposite design, and veneer stability under different environmental conditions. For some of these designs, there are often multiple ways to come to an answer and thus one would expect answers to often be different. Therefore, it is about understanding the concept and limitations and making educated assumptions to generate safe and table designs.
  • 3. Will the GeoKonect Design Tools produce certified designs?
While they are based on engineering technical papers and/or industry-accepted calculations, Kontain Pty Ltd are not practising engineers and thus these design tools are simply for preliminary evaluation rather than construction.
  • 4. What modules does the design tool cover?
Modules include leak rate analysis, drainage geocomposite design, liner soil veneer stability, wind uplift, and anchor trench design, among others.
  • 5. How can I access the design tool?
You will be given access upon signing up during the trial and paying for an annual subscription to GeoKonect. The design tools are under development but aim to be complete very soon (June 2024). For more information, contacting Kontain directly would be recommended.
